A flying tackle or resolving a dispute by mutual consultation? The first thing Els does is to listen to what her client actually wishes to achieve. Even if there is only a small change of success, Els will charge into the case. On the other hand she is not afraid to hold up a mirror to her clients at times.

She is especially interested in cases involving government entities and political decisions. Her expertise in employee participation includes (complex) change management processes and reorganizations. In project such as those the combination of her background in law and business science has proven very valuable. Her successful approach is characterized by taking all interests into account, cleverly countering actions of the other party and a level-headed approach. For Els winning is a relative notion: successfully guiding a client through a case can in some cases be a win as well.

In her leisure time Els is working on her PhD thesis on the primacy of politics in employment relationships within the public sector. The starting-point are employment relationships in which the role of the government is that of an employee or director. A theme that is often relevant for her in her employee participation practice and that presents complicated issues for many.
