Met de Omgevingswet worden 26 wetten op het gebied van de fysieke leefomgeving in elkaar gepast en samengevoegd. De bedoeling is dat de Omgevingswet zorgt voor een samenhangende aanpak van de leefomgeving, ruimte voor lokaal maatwerk en betere en snellere besluitvorming. Daarnaast wordt participatie bevorderd. Onderdeel van de Omgevingswet maakt uit dat er \u00e9\u00e9n Omgevingsloket komt waarin initiatiefnemers snel zien wat er mag in de leefomgeving. De inwerkingtreding van de Omgevingswet was beoogd voor 1 juli 2022. Op 1&nbsp;februari 2022 heeft de minister bekend gemaakt dat de invoering van de Omgevingswet wordt uitgesteld, tot 1 oktober 2022 of zelfs 1&nbsp;januari 2023. Volgens de minister is dat nodig voor een verantwoorde invoering van de Omgevingswet. De minister geeft aan dat er uit verschillende overleggen met medeoverheden en experts naar voren is gekomen dat er meer tijd nodig is om goed te oefenen met de digitale systemen.
